How to contribute data to the TRY database

You are welcome to contribute data to the TRY initiative at any time. The TRY database is not public, but data are shared among participants of the TRY initiative upon request, with the foremost objective to support the development and more objective parameterisation of dynamic global vegetation models.

TRY participants are individuals who have contributed at least 500 plant trait records AND/OR formally presented a proposal for a modelling development, AND have declared to know and accept the "Intellectual property guidelines of the TRY initiative".

Each contributor of data on plant traits will retain the right to be informed of any TRY activity that may involve his/her data, and will have the opportunity to negotiate whether his/her data can be used, and whether general guidelines of authorship need to be modified in that particular case. Trait contributors retain the rights to withdraw his/her data at any time.
