TRY Databases
The Data Explorer is based on a reduced version of the TRY Main Database, in the following called TRY Web Database.
The Web Database was reduced due to the TRY
Intellectual Property Rights, for performance reasons,
and to avoid confusion for the user.
The differences are the following:

| Trait data | Original and standardized values | Availability information only |
| Covariates | All as submitted by data owners/providers | Latitude and longitude only |
| Trait Names | Original and standardized | Standardized only |
| Species | Original and standardized | Standardized only |
When data are released for a proposal, they originate from the TRY Main Database and therefore contain more and more detailed information
than the Data Explorer reveals.
